Collaborating with the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) and the British Equestrian Federation (BE) enables us to work closely with the FEI and access valuable data on horses competing at the highest levels of international sport.
Equine Register provide the Central Equine Database (CED) in the UK on behalf of Defra and UK Government. The centralised system holds the records of over 1.8 million equines residing in the UK and 850,000 owner details.
The Digital Stable plays a vital role in the UK of connecting all the studbooks and breed socities with owners, breeders and keepers who want to digitally update their equine passports and ID information. It is a legal requirement in the UK for every horse to be registered on the CED and to have a Microchip number.

Equine Register work with the industry in the UK to provide solutions for vets to identify equines registered on the Central Equine Database (CED) by their microchip number. Our Vet app links directly with the CED equine data and allows vets to lookup any animal and record vaccination, controlled drugs, microchips, markings, disease reporting and death directly to the national system. This provides verified data against a horse profile.
Equine Register varifies that a vet is a registered and currently practicing in the UK, by partnering with the RVCS and directly checking in real time membership numbers and biometric information provided by the vet.

Equine Register partnered with The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) to undertake important research using data from new functions in the Digital Stable app. Funded by the Horse Trust, the RVC research project team will use this information to further the understanding of infectious disease risks amongst horses. Currently, it is challenging to understand the risks of infectious disease spread between different UK horse populations, particularly among leisure and competition horses, as there is limited information about where they travel and come into contact with each other.

Equine Register has partnered with The Horse Trust to develop a research platform called Horse Life. This platform connects researchers with UK horse owners and keepers, using data from Equine Register’s Digital Stable and the UK Central Equine Database (CED).
Horse Life enables researchers to carry out longitudinal cohort studies, exploring how factors such as feeding patterns, turnout schedules, environmental conditions, and location impact the health and wellbeing of horses over their lifetimes.
